DT reveal - 27 April Flower Garden

Hello everybody,

My first post for Berry71blue blog dt team for the month of April.
Inspired by the beautiful tag of marivic, our sponsor for this month
"the scrapcake" and the inspirational picture of Agniezska i made this layout.

Pictures are taken one of the first beautiful days here in Greece,
my husband and i went for a bike ride in the national gardens in Athens.

Spring is here and all the gardens will be filled with beautiful flowers.
That's why this tag of marivic was perfect for this page.

I did some fussy cutting with the new line of the scrapcake "my private happiness".
A gorgeous new line with beautiful papers, bright colors and nice quotes.

Remember you still have a few days to enter for our challenge at Berry71blue blog.
And have the chance to win this wonderful new paper line of The scrapcake.

Thank you for stopping by and have a great day,
Channa

DT reveal - 24 April, "My name...Ioli"

Hello everyone!

This is Vicky and I am sharing with you today the first layout I've made as a designer for the sweetest and talented person Marivic Clifton! Her tags are really unique! She has an excellent taste in gathering yummy little vintage embellies and she combines them to make the most chic tags and kits ever! You can find her tags at her "Berry71bleu" Etsy shop and the kits at "Zeus and Zoe" Etsy shop!
You must keep an eye though because they sell out fast!

I made a layout with a photo from my DD's baptism,

The background paper was all creme and I used a cut out paper as a mask and I misted with Tattered Angels Suede and Olive vine.

Here are a few close ups..

Don't forget to participate in our challenge this month based on this inspirational photo...

and our sponsor this month The Scrap Cake!

You have until the end of April to upload your project on the sidebar!
We would love to see your creations and get inspired!!!
Have a nice day!
xoxo

DT Reveal 20 April - Sugar and Spice

Hi Girls,

Here is my 1st post for Berry71Blue.  I am so excited to be part of such a fabulously talented International Design Team and on top of that I get to create with Marivic's gorgeous tags every month.

Sugar and Spice
I decided to take some inspiration from this month's challenge bought to you by Agnieszka Bellaidea for my LO.  The flowers from Agnieszka's inspiration pic are all pretty pink tones which went perfectly with Marivic's gorgeous pink cake tag and as The Scrapcake are sponsoring us with a fabulous prize this month I chose some delicious Scrapcake pp with pink roses.  The pretty white cake stand in the pic inspired me to use some lovely lacy paper doilies, and the yummy cake in the pic also goes perfectly with the cake theme on Marivic's tag.

Easter Layout - Always Stay Forever Young at Heart

Hi there folks :)  Helen here with my monthly reveal, this time with an Easter theme.

Of course we all have Easter photos from just the other weekend & Berry 71 Bleu
has just the perfect Spring-themed/Easter tags to compliment our pages.

This is the beautiful tag I was sent to work with, full of bright Spring colors.

I was also sent the most amazing selection of supplies to use too -
the very same  ones used in the custom kits at Berry 71 Bleu's
  sister-store on Etsy - Zeus & Zoe.

Almost everything I used on my page is from what I was sent, except for the
alpha stickers, Prima bling, brad, Jenni Bowlin Vintage buttons & the ribbon.

Working with B71B tags is so SIMPLE, especially when mixed
with the wonderfully well co-ordinated kits at Zeus & Zoe.

They take your page from DRAB to FAB in one easy step -
just stick it down and your done!

Of course there are also other things that you can do to showcase your Easter photos
to perfection.  Here I created a SIX WORD LONG TITLE using 4 different
types of alpha stickers together with the "FOREVER" word chipboard.

Journaling is also vital to remember all the details of the event so don't
forget to include the date & whatever else springs to mind!  Use your
own handwriting if you want something quick, easy & personalized.

I took another sheet of detailed paper I was sent and fussy-cut it then laid it
over the corner of my page, using 3D tape to raise it up slightly for more dimension.

Then I added a bow underneath the photograph, using a piece of grosgrain
ribbon I had saved from a box of Easter chocolates.  I just inked the ribbon
with a touch of lime,  to match my page, then "V" cut  each end to stop it fraying,
and tied a knot through it for some interest!

I fussy-cut the sweet birdie & scroll from the same piece of patterned paper
that I used for the corner detail and adhered it without any dimension, as it
was behind the photograph but I did raise up the edges with some pop-dots.

I adhered some beautiful Pansy vellum paper underneath the photograph.
In the photo above you can see it peeking out the top - I punched a
butterfly design across the top for a light, Summery feel...

Lastly I had fun embellishing with buttons, brads, flowers and small
sections of Prima "Say it in Crystals" swirls - cut into small twirls,
to create a clear visual triangle of black rhinestones.  Can you see it?

You can have just as much fun as I did, playing with Berry 71 Bleu tags too!
Just take a look HERE and make your selection!  The stock in the store
is particularly DROOLWORTHY at the moment.  All tags are hand-made
so every piece is an INDIVIDUAL and when it's gone it's GONE!!

I do hope that I have INSPIRED you to create some luscious Easter pages!

April Guest Designers

Please help me welcome our April Guest Designers:

Eila Sandberg

My name is Eila Sandberg and I live in Sweden's capital called Stockholm on the east coast by the Baltic Sea. My family is a small one; it's me and my very supportive and patient husband and our 3 cats - Max, Alice and Elsa. I have a grown-up stepdaughter. My roots are Finnish but I was born and raised in Sweden. I've been sort of dabbling with scrapping since 2009 but more seriously so since 2010. Scrapping is a wonderful way for me to gain balance and happiness in my otherwise very stressful office life, I scrap mainly 12 x 12 layouts.
I am a DT at the Australian challenge sites The Color Room and Meg’s Garden. I am also blessed to be a DT at the American challenge site CSI (Color .. Stories … Inspiration). Previously I have been GDT at the French site Les Papiers de Pandore and Malaysian Scrap-It-Lah.
As I am paper and flower girl, my favourite tools are my scissors and glue gun. My creative process is really higgedly piggedly. More often than not, my pages morph and end up looking totally different from what I started with. Hues of blue, brown and teal make my heart tick, so when I got my parcel from Marivic with the gorgeous tags I was really so excited. I am absolutely delighted and thrilled to be invited to be April GDT. Thank you so much for this fantastic opportunity!

An X-Ordinary DAY

And a quick Mini-tutorial from Eila following the April theme Challenge.

"First I always choose the papers I want to work with and fiddle around with the order of the layers.

I also like to get an idea of where to place my photo and the main larger embellies. If I am using stamps, I like to place out them too to get a visual feeling. Then I mark where the corners of my photos are before stamping.

As a step 2, I ink the edges. My fave ink is Tim Holtz distress ink in Vintage Photo but I also have quite a few Cat's Eye fluid chalks that come handy when I want to define smaller areas. Here I have used TH Black Soot and Vintage Photo, as well as Color Box fluid chalk in Olive and Moss Green.

Before assemling my page, I prepared the chippies. Both the lamp post and the fence were primed with Claudine Hellmuth Studio acrylic paint in Blank Canvas. The lamp post was then misted in Tattered Angels glimmermist in Coffee Shop and Black Magic. The fence was dabbed with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Old Paper alternating with smears of brown acrylic paint. I then dabbed Blank Canvas and Old Paper in layers till I was happy with the result.

I always leave my pages until the next day before photographing them as I like to look at them with fresh eyes. Very often I move an embellishment, add a little something or replace it with something else. I also put my journalling at the back as I don't have much white space on my pages."

Sabrina Sulaiman

Hi I’m Sabrina from Malaysia. Paper crafting has always been my main pastime and I always feel that paper crafting is the cheapest therapy. I started to become active in card making and creating layouts after blogging about scrapbooking. But I like to let you know that I enjoy making cards and mini albums the most. I am not exactly into complicated techniques but I do love creating layers as well as incorporating flowers and chipboards in my projects. I also love white and bright colors. I think by now, I am certain that I will design and play with papers forever and would love to turn my favorite pastime into a business =) Lastly, thank you so much Marivic for inviting me to be your Guest Designer!

Here is Sabrina's take on April's Challenge:
